Episcopal Flag

Loving, Liberating and Life-giving

Grant, O God, that your holy and life-giving Spirit may so move every human heart, that barriers which divide us may crumble, suspicions disappear, and hatreds cease; that our divisions being healed, we may live in justice and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

What does it mean to be Episcopalian?

As an Episcopal church, we are a community of people that finds meaning and importance in many of the ancient practices of the church.  Often you will hear Episcopalians says that we "believe what we pray."  We are a church rooted in prayer, believing that prayer is the foundation of our lives.  We also are a church that finds God's grace through the sacraments of Baptism and Eucharist and finds our story in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament.

We also know that everybody comes from different backgrounds with different experiences.  We invite you to bring your questions and your doubts.  We don't ask you to check your mind at the door.  Come as you are and we will journey together through this life of faith.

Finally, the Episcopal Church is rooted in the love of God through Jesus Christ.  We believe that every person is created in the image of God and is loved by God as you are.  For many years, the slogan of the Episcopal Church has been "The Episcopal Church Welcomes You."  At The Church of the Epiphany, ALL people are welcome to be part of this new community.
